Tacho Agent began with a simple observation. Andy was working with another tachograph bureau, and Tom - a data analytics and automation consultant with more than 25 years' experience - came in to understand the data behind the work.
What became clear was that the analysts were spending most of their time manually reviewing existing reports to highlight inconsistencies, rather than doing the work that actually mattered: investigating anomalies and explaining them to operators. The reporting was getting in the way of the analysis.
Tom saw that with better reports - generated properly from the underlying data - analysts could be freed from routine checking to put their time where it counts. Pair that with genuine tachograph compliance expertise, and you have a materially better service, and that's what Tacho Agent is built around.
So we decided to offer it to the market.
Where we're heading. We're not standing still. As Tacho Agent grows, we're building sector benchmarking - so you'll be able to see how your compliance compares with similar operators, not just track your own fleet. Same principle as day one: better data, put to work for the operators we serve.

Andy built the framework and reporting standards behind every report we produce, and leads the analysis team day to day. He's a certified Transport Manager with six years' experience in forensic tachograph analysis, which is why he's the one who decides how a driver is assessed against the regulations and how an infringement is classified and explained. He's also our Operations Manager, so if you deal with anyone directly, it's often him.

Kathryn keeps our reports, Knowledge Hub and website clear, accurate and genuinely readable. A qualified teacher with undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in languages, she turns dense compliance and technical detail into plain English operators can actually use.

Driver data is personal data. We treat it that way - securely, in the UK, under a documented framework.
Registered with the Information Commissioner's Office - ref ZC175805.
Secure transfer and encrypted storage. On a lawful basis, data may also be used to improve our analysis and build anonymised, aggregated sector insight - anything we share is aggregated so it can't identify a driver or operator. Full details in our privacy policy.
Full Data Processing Agreement available to every operator we work with.
Our analysis rules and reporting standards are built by a certified Transport Manager.
